OK so my husband and I went to A-1 in Dryden yesterday for dinner. Big mistake. Disappointed. That used to be our absolute FAVORITE place to go for pasta...but lately (since the previous owner, Gus, left) the quality of the food there has gone on a steep downhill slide. Unless they bring back Gus and let him run it...I'm done with that place. YEECCH. This was three strikes for me. First we got some nasty "critters" in our take home bag, then a few months later we tried again...and my husband found an apple in his Seafood Lasagna Alfredo sauce. And then yesterday I had a big, long hair in my pasta dish. Forget it. Bring back GUS!!!! He ran a tight ship, and a GREAT establishment. A-1 may have a new look, but the food is terrible now.

This is a good place to go for a night out. The prices are quite reasonable for the amount of food you get. The atmosphere is pleasant with a beautiful mural that is lovely to look at. The staff was attentive but not overbearing.

A-1 is the best value around. And it's not just a lot of food for not a lot of money. It's a lot of GREAT food for not a lot of money!! The wait staff is always friendly and the portions are huge! Just be sure to get there early on Firday and Saturday nights!

The A1 is actually a Greek (Ionian)/Italian restaurant. Gus, the owner, makes sure that everything is up to par. The food is delectable, with portions being more than I can handle. The menu features steak, seafood, chicken, pasta, pizza, and Greek speacialties. Full bar includes New York State wines. This restaurant is unpretentious, family-friendly, and a wonderful value.
